Hi,
I encountered a few frustrating problems while installing PHP4(with apache
1.3.12, mysql 3.2.32, mod_ssl) on my mandrake box. (I still remembered my
installation of php3 was way smoother). Hopefully someone here could give me
some advice:
1) Error linking mysqlclient. I install mysql using the binary dist. When
configuring and 'making' php, it seems that the configure script keep
looking for 'mysqlclient' in /usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql, when all the while
it's in /usr/local/mysql/lib. (I think that's due to the difference in
layout btwn source & binary installation of mysql). Eventually, i change all
reference to "lib/mysql" in the configure script to "/lib", and the
installation manage to complete. What is the correct way of fixing this
error?
2) When i start to run apache, it complains of this error:
'Cannot load .../libexec/libphp4.so into server: .../libexec/libphp4.so:
undefined symbol: isfinite.' However, the installation completed without any
complaints.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jonathan
