If I am not mistaken... (and I could be)
PHP fsock functions are TCP only... And Quake servers (and HalfLife) work
off UDP connections.
So that is why it works in PERL but not PHP...
Wait until you try to do a SSL connection with PHP... I knew there was a
reason I hadn't uninstalled PERL yet. :-)
