;) No, LIMIT is not an ANSI92 standard. I actually added LIMIT to
mSQL-1.x back in 1995. I didn't even read the ANSI92 standard and just
picked a word that seemed to describe what the clause did. MySQL then
picked it up and improved on the concept by allowing a range instead of
just a hard limit on the number of returned rows which is what I had done
in mSQL. So, I can say with a whole lot of authority that LIMIT is not in
any standard anywhere.
