current testing code:
$link = mysql_connect("localhost", "user", "pass" )
or die("Could not connect : " . mysql_error());
print "Connected successfully";
mysql_select_db("name") or die("Could not select database");
print "connected";
with user = null && pass=null && name=test then I can access the test db
with no probs
