my colleague just suggested that my popup, on the form submit, can call another page which just registers the items selected as session variables. This seems like a good idea. Of course, I will have to reload the original calling page, edit.php, so it can check those session varibles and amend the select1 list. I am going to try this, but I would still greatly appreciate any advice.
