Most browsers will, by default, open all the usual image files, html (htm) files, and txt files.
Later version of IE will open the various M$ files (doc, xls, ppt...) assuming you have each
respective M$ program installed. If you simply want to download the file, you can right-click/save
file as... There are plug-ins for NN to open such files, but by default it will give a download
dialogue box.

and all others) and display at the browser?
