If both images have the same size you don't even need javascript:
<style>
#mydiv {
background-image : url(http://domain.org/image1.jpg);
background-repeat : no-repeat;
width : 200px;
height : 120px;
}
#mydiv:hover {
background-image : url(http://domain.org/image2.jpg);
background-repeat : no-repeat;
width : 200px;
height : 120px;
}
</style>
<div id="mydiv"> </div>

I am putting together a web site with graphics from the artist and I need to learn how to change the image when I hover over it. Can you recommend a good javascript list or resource, particularly for someone who doesn't want to learn a lot of javascript? Replies telling how to do this, either here or off-list, are also very much appreciated :-) TIA & HAND :-D
