Am I missing something? Try this (it's what I do). Write a small script with this: <? phpinfo() ?> and execute it. In the output you'll find where php is looking for the php.ini file. By the way, yes, sometimes I feel that the compilation gives no advice of the --with-config-file-path option. Bye!
