Re: IRC & SOCKETS

If you do this on the server side with PHP you will need to reload or keep a connection open all the time to a web server process. Try using one of the many and free java IRC applets (http://www.freshmeat.net and search for java irc applet). Jason Paulo Nunes wrote:

I am trying to implement a chat to my page. Using reloading is out of the question. I was indicated this technology, iFrame, wich i am liking (does anyone knows better?). But my problem is: how do i manage that everyone sees what user X just wrote and sent? I was checking socket functions, but i am a litle lost in here. Could anyone help me? Thanks a lot!!!
