I still can't seem to get it working:

$str = "<a href='somewhere/else.html'>foo</a>";
$str = preg_replace("!<a href='([^>]*)'>([^<]*)</a>!",'blah',$str);
echo $str;
?>
echo's '<a href='somewhere/else.html'>foo</a>' rather than 'blah'
