I think it is only limitted by your computer's memory or the size of a long integer (2.4 billion or so). I did a test one day to see just how much a lookup into a configuration array would cost, and it was negligible both for loading time and access time on a 10000 entry array. Load time increases a bit on a 1 million entry array, but lookup was still extremely fast, which is fairly expected with any decent unique key lookup implementation.
