just compile PHP as a CGI binary (i.e. don't use --with-apache or
--with-apxs when configuring; don't forget to `make clean' before that).
install it (it will go in /usr/local/bin/, iirc)
then edit yout file:
#!/usr/local/bin/php -q
<?
your script here
?>
chmod +x <script-name>
and you're back in business with PHP (People Hate Perl :)
