We found a strange behavior with SSL pages where if you wait until after
the KeepAlive setting in apache (default 15 secs), you get a "Page not
found" error. But if you wait a bit longer (like 90 secs), it will work
OK. This only seemed to happen on SSL pages with a form.
We had to turn off KeepAlives in Apache to work around this frustrating
IE bug. It was IE 5.0 and up.
