That's strange, as I've been writing a CMS over the past year which requires the user to have IE 5.5 or newer, and I have no problems with pop-ups accessing session values under IE 6.0. Perhaps it's an issue of how you're invoking the new windows? Are you using a normal link with target="_blank" or are you using Javascript to launch the new window? Every other browser, to my knowledge, will work properly. Hope that helps.
