I forgot to mention, It worked for me but I did have to make a few modifications:
http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/PHP/SoothinglySeamless/page6.html
BINDIR/mysqlshow -p
is:
./mysqlshow -p
and
mysql -u root -p
is actually:
./mysql -u root -p
http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/PHP/SoothinglySeamless/page8.html
Where it says:
# cd apache_1.3.12
# SSL_BASE=../openssl-0.9.x \
RSA_BASE=../rsaref-2.0/local \
./configure \
--enable-module=ssl \
--activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a \
--enable-module=php4 \
--prefix=/usr/local/apache \
--enable-shared=ssl
Since I did not have SSL I used:
# cd apache_1.3.12
#./configure --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a
References to the php module were causing errors so I figured that the module reference could not be done at this point and that I could add it to the configuration file later, so I left out "--enable-module=php4". Note that I also left out the reference "--prefix=/usr/local/apache".
Note that these instructions will install Apache to /usr/local/apache which is not the typical location for RedHat.
