It depends - it'll be as slow as the response from the MySQL server that
you're hooking to,and that depends on the path that the packets take.
Having the MySQL server local is, of course, a "good thing" since you can
set up another NIC card on your Web server and have the MySQL server off of
the Internet side of things, along with having a different packet path.
