Hi,
We have developed a PHP based application which runs on an intranet.
The application involves uploading of files to the server and maintains a
repository of sorts. We used the standard File Input box to get the file
and then copied it from the temp location to another location using the
copy($userfile,$copyfilename) function. Everything works fine but our
customer is complaining that:
"a 9 MB file took more than 2 minutes and uploading another 16 MB file took
unacceptably long times (more than 3 minutes) . Any file transfer within our
LAN is Ultra fast , but file transfers with the PHP application are slow".
Has anyone faced this problem before? Is there a solution for this? Could
somebody help please?
The operating system is Solaris and we are using PHP 4.02/Apache 1.3.12.
Looking forward to your advice.
