if that's you who administer the server, I mean you have the right to modify
apache's httpd.conf then you should have gone there and check for the
availability of .php extension, and if it is there already make sure it
works just the same way and with the same modules .php3.
If the server is not yours then make 2 files one check.php and one
check.php3
put there
<?PHP
echo "<PRE>show_source($x)</PRE><P>\n";
phpinfo();
?>
when you open these files, see first if they worked, then if you have the
information below describing the php configurations. there you'll find lots
of info.
and if you modify the URL to check.php?x=/usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf
you can then see the whole apache configurations.
well, on UNIX at least, on windows the pass is different, I don't know it
since I hate microsoft, anyway just find the right pass and type it there to
see the file source.
Cheers!

Subject: [PHP] win98, .php and .php3
We have been running php successfully on our NT box with .php3 extensions
we were using phpwebhosting.com (who are completely uselss, don't respond to
any support queries, but most importantly their server
is down regularly!)
anyway (!) the extensions there were .php3 - we have moved to a more
reliable host who use .php and so I modified our scripts
locally to reflect those on the server
but they don't work - .php3 does!
We have checked the registry entries - .php and .php3 are both there and all
entries are correct
Does anyone know if with Win NT and PWS you can have either/or or both
extensions available?
Thanks in advance
