same php4 code can runs on different servers ??

hellow all, i need your help, i m beginner of php4, however i know asp well., if i have installed php4 on my windows NT 4.0 , and i have developed some pages on windows nt (iis4.0) itself, but when i put those pages on internet web server, the server may be Apache or Informix with php support , so in that case my php pages will work properely as if they are working on my local machine ??? also advice is there any software available to develope php visually, like in asp theres visual interdev to make the code easily understandable. please reply, thank you, tejash/amd.
