All,
I have a problem with inserting fields into Oracle8i when the field contains an apostrophe (') php seems to escape it automatically i.e. "smith and son's" becomes "smith and son\'s" this causes Oracle to blow up . Oracle needs to double the apostrophe to work .. i.e. "smith and son''s" will work.
My questions are....
1) is there a parameter or a function which will deal with this or do i need to "roll my own" function to deal with this ?
2) Is there a way to stop php escaping the ' with a \ ?
TIA
Steve Farmer
