FW: [PHP] Oracle8.16 error ORA-12546,so weird, suggestions r welc ome!

Hi Thies! Is the web-server on the same host as Oracle? If not, check that the system-user is granted access from the particular host that the web-server IS on. Often system-users is allowed to connect from localhost but not from any other host; this is to reduce the access opportunities if an unothorized person would get his/her hands on the password. This is a good policy; create another account with just enough privilegies to perform the tasks neccessary to satisify the application, and grant it access to all hosts that is suppossed to be able to make use of it.
