Probably not the typical PHP combo -- I'm accessing SQL Server from PHP4 on a
Linux box. I can connect to SQL Server and browse databases -- but when I try to
write to the database the connection to the browser is dropped. Interestingly,
the database is updated.
There are no error messages logged by php, but the Apache error log records a
segmentation fault:
[Thu Sep 28 12:34:07 2000] [notice] child pid 13843 exit signal Segmentation
fault (11)
PHP 4.02 is running on a Red Hat 6.1 machine, accessing SQL Server 7.0 running
on W2K. I compiled PHP following instructions I found on the annotated manual at
the PHP site (very handy!), using freetds version 0.50, built thus:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/freetds --with-tdsver=4.2 --enable-dbmfix
(I found I couldn't connect to the server at all using tdsver=7.0, although the
docs suggest that should be ok.)
PHP was compiled like this:
./configure [...] --with-sybase=/usr/local/freetds
Has anybody seen this problem, or have a clue how to fix it? I've seen mention
of it in the list archives but no solutions posted.
Out of interest, has anybody successful connected to SQL Server 2000 from PHP
running on Linux/Unix?
I'm on the digest so a cc: would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
