php under apache doesn't work

hi,
i have just installed php-4.0.2.
i have Apache-1.3.12 and mysql-3.23.24-beta.
After installing php i have copied php.ini-dist to
/usr/loca/lib/php.ini and i made some changes.
I have added
AddType aplication/x-httpd-php.php
into my httpsd.conf file (i have installed mod_ssl).
if i run ./httpsd -l
......
apache_ssl.c
mod_php4.c
mod_jserv.c
everything seems ok but when i try to view a test.php file on my
browser it only show the code.
test.php only contains:
<?phpinfo()?>
and this is what i saw in the browser.
any suggestions would be pleased,
