parse error on nonexisting line???

I am getting a parse error on my php page that doesn't exist (It's the line
number after the last one on the page). I remember seeing a solution to
this, but I don't remember where. I'm uploading in ASCII mode, and it just
seemed to start happening out of the blue. please, can anyone help me out!!
