Build on Mac OS X

I'm trying to get php running on a Mac OS X box, but even though the configure of php runs fine, I get this when I try to build php.... make: *** No rule to make target `files/php-4.3.5/sapi/apache/sapi_apache.c', needed by `sapi/apache/sapi_apache.lo'. Stop. This is the only thing it outputs. Messing with Makefiles is beyond my knowledge. Any ideas?
