I don't see any problem in PHP here. but choose your DB wise. MySQL is very fast when you do selects. but remember : to have somthing like transactions it uses tablelocking. that slowes your site down, as soon as you use a lot of updates. i prefer oracle..... sebastian | -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- | Von: James Crowley [mailto:james@vbweb.co.uk] | Gesendet: Freitag, 29. Will PHP be able to keep up with this, | and is there | anything else I should bear in mind when creating the site? | | Thanks, | | - James | | ================== | Email - james@vbweb.co.uk | ICQ# - 60612011 | Fax - 0870 7064574 | Websites | www.vbweb.co.uk | www.vbwebdev.com | www.ccrowley.f9.co.uk | ================== | | -----Original Message----- | From: php-general-digest-help@lists.php.net | [mailto:php-general-digest-help@lists.php.net] | Sent: 28 September 2000 18:26 | To: php-general@lists.php.net | Subject: php-general Digest 28 Sep 2000 17:25:44 -0000 Issue 255 | | | | php-general Digest 28 Sep 2000 17:25:44 -0000 Issue 255 | | Topics (messages 17863 through 17932): | | Re: htmlspecialchars | 17863 by: David Robley | 17864 by: Joseph H Blythe | | Re: PHP and SSL question | 17865 by: Jeff | 17866 by: Matt Allen | | Simple question | 17867 by: Richard Vibert | 17868 by: Lawrence.Sheed.dfait-maeci.gc.ca | 17869 by: Maxim Maletsky | | addslashes | 17870 by: Joseph H Blythe | 17871 by: Matt Allen | | Problems with time calculation | 17872 by: Mai Truong | 17874 by: David Robley | 17875 by: Mai Truong | 17877 by: David Robley | | Re: sorting LDAP queries...
