need help debugging php 4.3.3 and imap

Hello all, last weeks i tried sometimes to get my imap scripts to work. but as i try to connect to my imapserver (courier 2.2) with apavche 1.3.28 and php 4.3.3 with installed c-client200x v4.1, login fails or does not connect at all. here is a beautiful firewall installed, but imap and pop is allowed in all directions. tests with telnet tell me this. now i search the web , because simple login to imap via imap_open() fails. but icant find anything about such a problem, also in the mailinglist are only unsolved threads. i just want to do it now by myself, but i dont know how to do this. i just want to know , why imap login fails, when same server pop3-login is ok, and i can use imap functions on pop3 but next problem is i have c-client200x v4.1 and imap_get_quota or other imap functions seems to be undefined. i dont post any scriptsnippets or debug output here, because i have already done it in my other threads - and i really only need help and some hints on how to get more debug output, how to trace the stuff php does - what password is sent, username i sends etc. becaue everythiong is ok, but imap functions. i really need help.... (really i just want to get quota values, not more! and i seems to be an excessive trip to get it working) or are there any known problems? lots of thanks in advance, yours sincerely volker -- www.erdtrabant.de
