John, Yep, looking at phpinfo.php shows no support for mysql. This is very strange. I know these things don't just happen by themselves. I also
know
there are only two people with the password to the server, myself and
my
boss (and he knows nothing about the server to begin with). Anyway, looks like php needs to be configured to work with mysql. Now
that
it is the way it is, how do I go about that? According to pkg_info the
version of php is 4.3.4_3. Being a port install how do I configure it to use mysql? Thanks, Chip
Windows, *nix, something else? Apache, IIS, something else? If Apache and *nix, was Apache setup with apxs? -- John C. Nichel
That bit of info was snipped out of the original post. Its FreeBSD-5.1/Apache-2.0.46/mysql-4.0.1_1/php-4.3.4. -- Chip
If Apache is setup with apxs, you'll just need to recompile php. On the phpinfo page, look for --with-apxs=/path/to/apxs or --with-apache=../apache If it's not setup with apxs, you _may_ have to recompile both (I haven't touched Apache2 yet). -- John C.
