Sorry guys, but I can't find the reference in the Manual. (Maybe it's not
there yet?)
In php.ini you should be able to set the method for storing session
variables to use shared memory (instead of files).
php.ini line 380> session.save_handler = files ; handler used to
store/retrieve data
What value do I set instead of "files"???
We have compiled PHP4.0.2 on Solaris 2.6 with Apache 1.3.12 and Oracle OCI8
and Hyperwave support. (Well, still some problems with the latter. ;-)
We've read that shared memory is supported without having to write our own
stuff (other then if using a database). We need to use it also for
performance issues and to access the session data from other PHP processes.
(Some run as shell script using a PHP executable.) File access has proven to
be too slow and we would prefer not to use the database, as it will be going
to be used sufficiently as it is.
Any ideas? Or even better, a link to the right piece of documentation?
Cheers
Marc
