Remember, PEAR::DB also uses the standard functions, so I can't understand, why it should be much slower. RainerYou have to remeber that PEAR::DB is an object oriented abstraction over the standard functions, and within this abstraction, there is also built som error handling funtions, etc. in. /Martin Eriksen
