different output fom 2 servers

I am testing my scripts on my server w/ Apache
1.3.6 and PHP 3.0.9. The scripts are on another
server that I cant really access, but run scripts
from. The output of the scripts in the second server
are just the <? ... ?> tags. It doesnt seem like it
interprets the files. The guy who has the server says
it does. What can I do, aside from logging on the
server, cause I cant, to check his configuration?
Like, What variables should I look at if I run phpinfo
on his server? Thanks in advance for any help.
