Hi, I am about to give a presentation where I'll need
to bring a 'live version' of a site in my notebook.
The real site runs with under linux in an
apache+php4+mysql system.
I do not recall any native or non-portable function
used (basically sessions, cookies and mysql db access)
so I was wondering if anyone could give me tips
regarding using the same code under windows.
In the past I've managed to install and use IIS + PHP3
in a NT4 machine but with apache I had a problem
because I needed to change all posts and links to
php.exe (as cgi).
- Is there a way to make apache act as IIS, calling
php parser everytime I finds a .php file (assuming
this will make things work without rewriting all
links) ? Or is it better stick with IIS (for demo only
- in that case how do I get IIS for windows 2k
Professional)?
- Will sessions work with the cgi version of php4 ?
- Are there any known issues with any of the softwares
mentioned above that may lead me into trouble -
remember that even tough it is a presentation it
should work :)
Any tips will be great!
RT
