to my (poor:) knowledge on this, I remember the browser keeps a connection
with the server for the animated gifs, to load those frames.
you can try to output those frames with PHP I guess, telling it first it's
a gif (so you must know the gif89 (?) format), then know how to send one
frame a time (then wait yet another <timeout> seconds).
But what the heck, isn't JS *perfect* for this?
sign your JS code, to shout 'hey, it ain't a Guniski hack here, look I have
a VeriSign certificate for my code' and it should be okay :)
