Help with Date

Hi,
Could someone help me out here please.
I need to be able to do this and can't work out how....
$this_date = "last_day_of_next_month" ( In d-M-Y format)
So, today it would return 30-11-200. on 23- Nov -2000 it would return 31-12-2000, on 2-dec-2000 it would return 31-1-2001 and so on.
