Sounds like you've done everything correctly, just PHP wasn't installed as a CLI. Just to be sure, do a $ find / -name php
Is it ok to have PHP installed as both CLI and as a module? It is perfectly okay to have both. I'm using both on a server I have.
I installed the CLI rpm, and was then able to install pear. Now I just need to get the path situation straightened out. Thanks for the help, -- Ron
