PHP4 SESSIONS

I looked at tutorials on PHP4 and sessions and from there I learned that is cookies are disabled then I cannot use <a href="<? page.php3?PHPSESSID=$PHPSESSID ?>">Next</a>. But I need to use GET/Post methodes to pass sessionID from page to page. Here is what I have tried but it deosn't work with cookies off. Here is the code, can someone put me on the right track here. I have tried get and post.
