Hi
Thanks for your mails. I just now found out that the problem is with IE5. I generally use IE5 and
hence was all along thinking that it wasnt working fine. Now that means i am in a new area now.
The problem is still the same.I need a reliable way of ensuring that two different users do not
logon from the same browser (different instances ofcourse!) from the same machine.
What am i doing now
my cookie name is cookie_user
if(!isset(cookie_user))
{
/* allow user to login */
setcookie("cookie_user","$username","","/");
}
else
{
echo("User u are already logged in another browser window-hence no login");
}
This is working fine with netscape.
But in IE 5 it allows two logins. In each page i have the value of $cookie_user displayed and when i
open two instances of the window two different names are carried through and displayed..Most of the
discussion in the lists seem to be about the cookie not being set. I have not been able to locate
this problem anywhere...
wud u know of any solution
Thanks a lot for your help
