$a = 1;
$b = 2;
$c = 3;
You can then do this to add variables to the end of arrays:
$ar[] = $a;
$ar[] = $b;
$ar[] = $c;
Or you can do this:
$ar[0] = $a;
$ar[1] = $b;
$ar[2] = $c;
Either way, you can access it like this:
echo $ar[0]; // displays 1
echo $ar[1]; // displays 2
echo $ar[2]; // displays 3
This is well described under the Array section of the PHP manual.
