i can't access the nt server from here, so i can't tell by sure :
at some place at NT4.0 you can specify SYSTEM VARIABLES.
either it is at start/settings/system or at
start/programms/administration/system info.
there i have set the system var
ORACLE_SID=mytnsname
when i have a look at phpinfo()
it is shown under global vars, but when i try to connect to the db without
the third (optional) parameter i get the error. the manual says that if the
third parameter is set, then it uses ORACLE_SID. but it i logon with the
third
parameter OCILogon ('scott', 'tiger','mytnsname') it works without any
trouble.
