Changing a variabele in another frame and passing it back

Hi there, I'm a real PHP-newby and I've the following problem: I'm building a page with 2 frames: 1 with buttons and 1 with content. When a button is clicked, a php-file is loaded in the other frame by using a hyperlink like <a href="newfile.php?var=$var" target="frame2">button</a>. Now, here is the problem: In the newfile.php the variabele changes, so it has to be changed in frame1 also without using a hyperlink. I want newfile.php to do this without any interaction of the user and without using cookies. How can I do that??? Please reply to me personaly at coppens@home.nl Thanx, Bart Coppens
