We've done it here, but didn't see much of an improvement -
I couldn't actually notice *any* difference, although at
extremely high loads there might be a slight benefit.
We get pretty uptight about timing - all our pages display
the execution time in ms, so if there was a speed benefit to
sessions in a ram disk, we'd have noticed it.
It may depend more on your hardware - this is a 512 meg dual PII
with some kind of huge scsi/raid something or other (fuzzy on details,
but it's pretty darn fast already) - there may not be much
more than can be done on that hardware...
