first of all :
DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!
there are plenty of problems you will encounter with this
( to name a few :
- tabel max size=2gb
- backup via sql won't be possible
- there is no advantage by doing so
)
store filenames and aditional information in the database, because that is
what you
will be searching for...
store binary data in filesystem, because it's faster, better to maintain
and VERY much easier to backup.

could anybody name an advantage of storing images in a DB? it's so popular
and i don't understand why..... because it's possible can't be the reason.
