Sample of win32 users reaction "i'm > not sure but it just seems like the 4.0 developers dont > care about win32" (take from php-windows list). Keep in mind that PHP is developed by volunteers working on what they want to work on... If there aren't any volunteers who want to work on PHP to make it rock-solid under Windows, well, there's not much to be done about it. As with all OpenSource software: If you need it to work for you, you are encouraged to fix it yourself. Or hire a Windows guru to fix it. The PHP Developers care: It's just that they're primarily Unix hackers, and there are only so many hours in a day for them to fix bugs that they have a real hard time duplicating, figuring out, and then fixing. Particularly since there is no consistency between the various Windows OSes. You fix a bug for one (say Win95), and it causes a bug in the other (Win2K). Perhaps the php-windows list could work together to help develop a better frame work for tracking intermittent bugs on the differing platforms, or to find Windows gurus willing to work on PHP, or... There's a lot of self-help invovled in OpenSource. -- Richard Lynch | If this was worth $$$ to you, buy a CD US Customer Support Director | from one of the artists listed here: Zend Technologies USA | http://www.L-I-E.com/artists.htm http://www.zend.com | (this has nothing to do with Zend, duh!)
