Problems with PHP in safe mode

Hi to everybody... I'm a newbie in this list , so sorry if this question may seem obvious... but I've found no useful info searching in php manual and in the faqs.... I'm developing a web site with php, and I've found that's impossible to access uploaded file as the server run in safe mode: unluckily, my provider don't want to turn safe mode off, as the same server is used also for some unsafe sites... In the manual, I found a trick regarding the creation of a bash script to copy the uploaded temporary file in a folder owned by me: it didn't work, even copying the script in the folder reserved to executable scripts for safe mode...reason for this in unclear to me as system() function doesn't return any error code... it simply doesn't work....even my provider watched the script and does not understand why.... He suggested to me to give a look to .htaccess cofiguration file for apache... but reading the apache web manual I didn't found any useful info... Could someone give me a clue, if exist? I would be very unhappy having to upload manually dozen of daily files...for all the site's life...:-)))) Thanky you very much Francesco
