Date problem?

echo date('F',strtotime("next month"));
This is printing February right now. Does this sound right or is this a but in strtotime()? is
"next month" a valid parameter?
and yes, I am sure our server is set to December(todays date).
echo date('F',strtotime("last month"));
Does give me November as it should
