Hello
Short time ago I wrote about a problem with adding
php configuration directives to httpd.conf. The problem
hasn't been solved yet, but I have more infos now.
I'd like to override the global php4 configuration (in
php.ini) by adding directives to httpd.conf. Finally I
would like to set some directives for every virtual host.
For a start I tried to set the 'asp_tags' directive, just
because it's quite easy to test, whether it works or not.
I added the line
php_value asp_tags On
to the bottom of httpd.conf. If I execute the 'phpinfo()'
function, then the value is 'On' for 'local value' and it's
'Off' for 'master value'. If I write a PHP script with
asp tags it isn't executed. If I set 'asp_tags' to 'On' in
php.ini, then then same script works fine.
Even more strange, overriding 'include_path' seems to work.
I also tried to set 'doc_root' to some directory, which
apparently should disallow to access files above the
specified directory, when safe mode is on (at least some
people have mentioned that). That doesn't work in both
cases (httpd.conf and php.ini). I can still easily read
'/etc/passwd' and have not yet figured out how
to prevent PHP scripts from reading files above some
directory.
I really don't understand what's going on. Any help is
very appreciated. If possible, please reply be email.
bye
