ok, I suppose I should be more specific the first time... I can compile php completely, and install it with the following config: ./configure --enable-track-vars --with-apache=../apache_1.3.12 --enable-ftp --with-gd --with-pgsql --with-ttf --with-imap=/usr/include but when I go to compile apache with the following config: ./configure --with-layout=GNU --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a --activate-module=src/modules/dav/libdav.a --enable-module=ssl I get this message: ===> src/main gcc -DLINUX=2 -DMOD_SSL=206104 -I/usr/src/php-4.0.0 -I/usr/src/php-4.0.0/Zend -I/usr/src/php-4.0.0/Zend -I/usr/src/php-4.0.0 -DEAPI -DUSE_EXPAT -I../lib/expat-lite -DNO_DL_NEEDED ../apaci -L/usr/local/ssl/lib -o gen_test_char gen_test_char.o -Wl,-rpath,/usr/include/c-client -rdynamic -L/usr/include/c-client -Lmodules/php4 -L../modules/php4 -L../../modules/php4 -lmodphp4 -ldb -lc-client -ldl -lpq -lgd -lresolv -lm -ldl -lcrypt -lnsl -lresolv -lm -lcrypt -lssl -lcrypto ld: cannot open -lpq: No such file or directory <----- Right Here make[3]: *** [gen_test_char] Error 1 make[2]: *** [subdirs] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/apache_1.3.12/src' make[1]: *** [build-std] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/apache_1.3.12' make: *** [build] Error 2 My /etc/ld.so.conf has the following line: /usr/local/pgsql/lib and I have run ldconfig to update the libaries.
