Hi I thought gd was part of the latest version, I was convinced but now not so sure. I would not use rpms for the gd libary anyway - from source is best. I'm sure its in the source now for th latest version - in fact it is here you are - installed using this script: http://213.165.144.130/info.php you will see gd there about half way down the page I use a script, add and play around with it if you find this useful.
