What fancy logic? And why does no one need it?
I'm referring to this: http://archives.devshed.com/a/ng/557-22943/
Now surely you can RTFM and find more answers. If you disagree with the way that some things work you have a couple of options; a. Contact the PHP development group and explain what you would like to happen. 2. Write an extension yourself that 'fixes' the items you have questions about.
But the named issues are pretty obvious, so I assume that there are some reasons why things work as described. Maybe I use functions in the way they were not meant to be used. Maybe there are engine limitations... Manual (and believe me, I read it occasionaly) describes only what function does, not how it works inside, or why it works in this particular way. PS: As I see from the manual on php.net, developers actually fixed microtime() in php 5. I either missed that example, or my manual is slightly outdated. Sorry. However, the rest of the questions still stand.
