i've verified that --with-named-z-libs=z doesn't work
on NetBSD/Alpha 1.5_ALPHA2. using that option, after
the library is compiled, nm reports COMPRESS and
UNCOMPRESS undefined. however, if i use these options:
--with-mysqld-ldflags="-lz" \
--with-client-ldflags="-lz" \
then it gets libz compiled in just fine. NetBSD does
have libz newer than what was required. perhaps there
is a bug in the configure script?
